Greenville, MS - Austin, TX
Miles: 531
Stops: 3
States: 4
We arrived in Austin around dinner time on Sunday, after a 9 and a half hour drive from Greenville. For most of the drive we were literally in the middle of nowhere, passing more ranches and soybean fields than cars. Once we hit Waco and got back on the interstate, it got a little crowded and our last 30 minutes in the car were plagued with a little Austin traffic. Of course, after you drive 2200 miles, the last thing I wanted to encounter was traffic for the last few miles but it wasn't all that bad. (There is a picture of me standing in front of the Welcome to Texas sign at the border, it'll be uploaded soon enough). Getting to Matt and Alison's was a relief. We relaxed then emptied the car into my apartment and went back for dinner. The next morning I had to finish studying for my statistics exam, take the exam, and run errands. The test was OK, we'll see what happens. IKEA with Dad was productive and I got my electricity turned on. The evening was my first LBJ social event- dinner followed by an optional bar outing. Everyone seems great and while I'm anxious to get settled and unpacked and organized, I'm happy to have a busy orientation week ahead of me.

Sass is in Tejas. Woot. Holler. Or as Billy would say 10 years ago: "Go Shania, it's your birthday, go shania, it's your birthday..."
